Note:

As described on the home page, Petrie published two versions of The Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh. The first, published in 1883, is presented on this website. The second, published in 1885, is a highly abridged lay version from which the bulk of the technical information has been deleted or summarized into a few lines of text. These two versions are described as "editions" by Petrie, but they bear little resemblance to one another; they are, in fact, separate books.

Unfortunately, Amazon.com, to which the link below will take you, has confused the two books, cross-linking the commentary as though the books were essentially identical, thus confusing some buyers into purchasing the wrong book.

The versions can easily be identified: The 1883 version is ISBN 0710307098 and, according to the publisher, contains 260 pages. The abridged 1885 edition is ISBN 1854170511 and contains 136 pages (of which 39 are an "update" by Zahi Hawass). Both are reprints of the original works.

The link below will carry you to the proper book. But be advised that Amazon's "look inside" feature erroneously links to the abridged 1885 version, so it should be ignored. Also ignore the customer comment, which refers to the 1885 abridged version.
